The younger generation is making waves in the NFL on weekends, with Cameron Wolfe from NFL Network reporting that the Buffalo Bills have reached an agreement to enlist running back Frank Gore Jr. Despite not being selected in this year’s draft, the 22-year-old standout from Southern Miss is joining Buffalo as an undrafted free agent.
Gore Jr. is the eldest child of the renowned running back Frank Gore, who is set to be eligible for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026. With five Pro Bowl appearances, an All-Pro selection, and a career tally of 16,000 rushing yards (the third-highest in history), the elder Gore left an indelible mark on the sport. Though his prime years were spent elsewhere, he concluded his career with a brief stint in Buffalo in 2019.
This NFL season has seen a notable emphasis on legacy, exemplified by Marvin Harrison Jr.’s selection as the fourth overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals. Additionally, many other offspring of NFL luminaries have followed suit. The Philadelphia Eagles recently drafted the son of their former All-Pro defender, while the San Francisco 49ers signed the offspring of an iconic player. Joining this prestigious list is Gore Jr., who amassed 1,131 rushing yards and ten touchdowns for Southern Miss last season.
